Spoiled kitty

A. Rogers Nov. 2011

Well, at least it's just what was left over after I had a bowl of cereal. But, she was still happy!

Blueberries...I mean olives

At first he was calling them blueberries... you know you STILL do this. Just admit it. :D

Grateful for silly moments

Every time I take a group shot, it is requisite that I MUST take a silly shot. It is teacher rule #304. If you want the kids to cooperate and get in the picture, you must promise to let them have a silly shot too. Here you go....

A. Rogers Nov. 2011

We started a last-minute-perfect-idea-especially-because-teacher-didn't-have-to-spend-a-penny-project yesterday. Gratitude Wreaths. I cut the center out of paper plates, which I already had. Then I cut out a bazillion die cut leaves and had the kids use Sharpies (yay for Sharpies! They love them) to write one thing they were grateful for on each leaf. Then they had to cover the plate with leaves and an awesome parent came with fabric when I called at the last minute. We made little bows and I strung a piece of yarn through the top. The kids decorated with glitter (curse glitter, but they love it) today.

Everyone who came in the past two days (teachers, aides, secretaries, custodians) was in love with our Gratitude wreaths. I guess it will have to be a tradition, but the glitter - not so much.

Colors of the season

Today was sorta gray and cloudy most of the day and not really exciting. However, the past few days, I have really been noticing the leaves changing colors and dropping. I love the golden color of the trees on our school grounds. I think they are spectacular!

"Family" room

I did some redecorating this past weekend and decided to put up more family pictures. I really like it a lot. Family is everything.

It's been way too long

A. Rogers Oct. 2011

It was so good to see my brother again. It has been about a year and a half since he and his wife moved up north. We all had such a good time seeing each other. I love this picture so much. They both look so nice.

A Good Omen

In Japanese culture it is considered a good omen to fold 1000 paper cranes. One of my students wanted to show the class after he read the book, Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes at home over the weekend. I let him be the teacher and he sat at my chair, and using the Elmo document camera, he taught the kids how to make a crane like Sadako did. He was such a good teacher!

The Awesome Threesome

I love that I somehow ended up with these three look alikes together in my class this year! Of course, it wouldn't be an appropriate Halloween then, without having the defenders of magical good make an appearance.

The Boy Who Lived

Too bad he was born a few years too late. This kid is the spitting image of the boy who saved the magical world from You Know Who and he would have been perfect in the movies.

A cozy place

A. Rogers Nov. 2011

I found Lucy sleeping in the bathroom sink. She looked so comfortable and happy. It is just the perfect size for little Lu.
